This benefit allows your employees to lease an eco-friendly car (pillar 1) with their mobility budget in Payflip. From 1/1/2026 on, only cars without CO2-emission will count as pillar 1 cars. The ordering process happens outside of Payflip. Upon the car’s arrival, financing of the car can be done through the mobility budget by adding the:
TCO (total cost of ownership)
Date of arrival
Lease period
Navigate in the Payflip admin tool to Company > Benefits > 'Green car (pillar 1)' and click on 'read more' for more concrete details.
Activating the benefit
⚠️ This benefit is visible to all admins in the Payflip admin tool, but as long as the status is not set to active, your employees will not see it.
1. Request the correct lease dates and TCO from your lease provider
Upon the car’s arrival date, you can add the choice in Payflip to start payment through mobility budget. In order to do that, you’ll need to know the car’s TCO (total cost of ownership) and start date. Your lease partner offers this info.
2. Activate the benefit
Navigate in the Payflip admin tool to Company > Benefits > 'Green car (pillar 1)' and click 'activate'.
Set the default lease period in months. Note that an employee can change this period in Payflip according to their specific car.
Check the box to make sure your employees agree with Payflip’s terms & conditions on this benefit (recommended)
💡 Tip: this is the case for most of our clients. You can always check another benefit to see if this is activated there.
Check the ‘Mobility Budget’ checkbox and indicate how the costs will be deducted from the employees budget.
If you offer year-round possibility to opt for and order a pillar 1 car, leave the choice deadline date field empty.
💡 Tip: If your lease provider handled a choice deadline, fill it out there. After that date, employees won’t be able to add a choice for this benefit.
Select ‘Activate’ when you are done configuring the benefit and want to make it visible for your employees. If not, select ‘Save as draft’.
3. Add eco-friendly pillar 1 cars for your employees
💡 Tip: Your employees will be able to add their own pillar 1 car themselves, but when you’re first getting started with Payflip, we recommend that you as the admin add them. There are two ways to add a pillar 1 car choice for your employee
3.1. Adding individual car choices
Go to the employee overview and select the employee for whom you want to add a car.
Go to ‘Choices’ and select ‘Add Choice’.
Select the ‘Green car (pillar 1)’ benefit and fill out the Start date (date of arrival), monthly TCO and lease period (in months).
Review the budget impact and select ‘Add Choice’. The choice will now be registered in Payflip for that employee 🥳

4. Communicate BIK to payroll provider
⚠️ Payflip does not communicate BIK of cars. Once the car has arrived, inform your payroll provider to set it up.
